Safe companies and Locksmiths across Ireland report that sales of safes are up.

Sales of Safes are on the increase due to concerns over banks, security .

Safe companies and Locksmiths across Ireland report that sales of safes are up, some businesses report increases by as much as 65 percent, because people are afraid of ailing banks and the uncertainty of how and if the economy will bounce back. Savers are withdrawing cash to put in personal safes at home as people lose confidence in bank's and the economy. More people are choosing to keep savings under their own lock and key.

The last time a similar increase was when people were concerned how banks' computers would handle the Y2K switchover.

The "credit-crunch" we're experiencing from the distressed housing market is taking it's toll on financial institutions which were once considered too big and powerful to fail.
